How the process works
Contact the person dealing with your matter, their supervising partner or manager, or our Client Care & Resolution Team.
Your complaint will be reviewed and we will aim to provide a response within 15 working days.
If you remain dissatisfied, the matter can be escalated to our Client Care & Resolution Team for a further investigation.
If the complaint remains unresolved, you may be able to refer it to the Legal Ombudsman or, where appropriate, report regulatory concerns to the SRA.
01
If you are unhappy with the service provided to you, or with how your personal data has been managed, please first contact the individual normally responsible for your matter, or their supervising partner or manager. Their details should appear in your initial correspondence.
If you do not have those details, or would prefer to contact us centrally, you can write to our Client Care & Resolution Team at info@quebeclaw.co.uk.
Client Care & Resolution Team
Your case manager and their supervisor will review your complaint and aim to respond within 15 working days. If the issues are more complex and additional time is required, we will tell you as soon as possible and provide an indication of when you can expect a response.
We may suggest a meeting or telephone call where that would assist in understanding or resolving your concerns. If you have a preferred method for receiving our response, please tell us when making your complaint.
If you remain dissatisfied following the initial review, you may ask for the complaint to be escalated to our Client Care & Resolution Team. A further investigation will then be undertaken with the aim of resolving matters amicably.
The Legal Ombudsman generally expects firms to be given up to eight weeks to resolve a complaint before it will consider commencing its own investigation.
02
If you are not satisfied with the final response from our Client Care & Resolution Team, or if we have not resolved your complaint within eight weeks, you may be able to refer the matter to the Legal Ombudsman.
Generally, the Legal Ombudsman expects a complaint to be referred within one year of the act or omission complained about, or within one year of when you became aware of it. It will also usually expect the complaint to be referred within six months of our final response.
